Therapy of the Month: Aromatherapy

There is a wonderful world of alternative therapies. This month, we shine a light on Aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy, also known as Essential Oil therapy, is the art and science of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to balance and harmonize your body and your mind.

The inhaled aroma from these “essential” oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing. As part of alternative medicine, aromatherapy is gaining momentum. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function. There are a wide number of essential oils available, each with its own healing properties. The aromatherapy massage combined with the benefits of essential oils is a perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life. It is a full body relaxation massage. This massage will bring blissfulness to your back, the front and back of your legs, your feet, your arms and your chest. This treatment will totally relax you and help drive out tensions.
