We wanted to focus on a very effective and natural weapon: essential oils which have antiseptic properties and can stimulate the immune system.

Here is a quick review of the most effective oils to boost and protect your natural defenses.

You can use essential oils by:

  • Adding them to cleaning products, disinfectant surface sprays or the washing machine

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus globulus is one of the most popular oil to help treat the symptoms of colds. It can be applied diluted to the chest and feet or via steam inhalation it can help clear congested sinuses. It has proven effectiveness against flu, E. coli, some Staph strains and Candida albicans.

Rosemary

Rosemary is another helpful essential oil for respiratory diseases and is a also a great oil that clears the sinuses and shown to be useful treating bacterial and fungal infections and has mild anti-viral properties.

Tea Tree

Tea Tree is an immune stimulant and a very strong antiseptic oil. Tea Tree has been shown to be effective to treat viral infections of the digestive system, Candida albicans and a strong anti-bacterial action against E. coli, some Staph and Salmonella strains.

Cinnamon

is probably one of the strongest anti-bacterial essential oils with some anti-fungal properties. Excellent for adding to cleaning products in small amounts and avoid using directly on the skin.
